Description:

1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluorooctylmethyldimethoxysilane is a chemical that has been shown to inhibit the adhesion of bacterial cells to hydrophilic surfaces in a concentration-dependent manner. It can be used as a coating for medical devices. The mechanism of action is not well understood. 1H,1H,2H,2H-Perfluorooctylmethyldimethoxysilane has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro at low concentrations and may be useful for treating bacterial infections by inhibiting the production of bacterial cell walls and interfering with DNA replication.
