Potassium (4-acetylphenyl)(trifluoro)borate(1-) is an organotrifluoroborate that is the product of a stereoselective synthesis. It is used as a reagent in olefination reactions, and can be used to produce trisubstituted olefins. The compound has been shown to be stable in the presence of unsaturated olefins, which are susceptible to oxidation. This reagent is also used for the preparation of substituted phenols from alcohols with electron-withdrawing groups, such as nitro or chloro.
