Description:

1,1,1,2,2-Pentafluoro-6,6-dimethyl-3,5-heptanedione is a reagent that is used in chromatography to separate and quantify compounds. It is a volatile substance with a boiling point of 117°C. When it reacts with sodium dithionite in the presence of an acid, it forms sulfur dioxide and pentafluoropropene. 1PFDMH can also be used as a ligand for chelating agents or as a substituent for gas chromatography. It has been shown to provide sensitivity to vanadium at concentrations at or below 10 ppm.
