Phenyl-(2-Difluoroethyl)-4-Aminopropylamidinohydrazone (PFDA) is a chemical compound that can be used as an actuator. It is synthesized by reacting phenylhydrazine with 2,2-difluoroethanol. The absorption spectrum of PFDA shows peaks at 208 and 300 nm. The photocurrent generated by this drug is proportional to the concentration of ca2+ signal in cells and the amount of autofluorescence signal from the cells. This allows for an optical system to integrate the detector signals and measure the total integrated photocurrent. We have also shown that PFDA has high chemical stability in a liquid chromatography method.
