Product Information
- 6-Quinoxalinesulfonyl Chloride
Quinoxaline-6-sulfonylchloride is an antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. It binds to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA, which leads to the inhibition of protein synthesis and cell death. Quinoxaline-6-sulfonylchloride has been shown to be effective against gram-negative bacteria and has shown inhibitory activity against a wide range of bacterial strains. This drug also has potent antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria, including staphylococci, streptococci, and enterococci. The mechanism of action of quinoxaline derivatives is not well understood but may involve interference with bacterial protein synthesis or the prevention of cell wall formation.
