Quaternium-22 is a quaternary ammonium compound that is used as a conditioning agent and an anti-static agent. Quaternium-22 has been shown to be processable and can be used in the production of plastics, textiles, and rubber products. Quaternium-22 is not considered to be an allergen or a sensitizer. It does not cause skin irritation or sensitization, nor does it cause eye irritation. Quaternium-22 has been shown to have clinical data for use in treatments for women with hydroalcoholic conjunctivitis and animals with atopic dermatitis.
