The quinoline-8-sulfonic acid is a potent inhibitor of the acetylcholine α7 nicotinic receptor. The inhibition of this receptor leads to the decrease in neuronal activity, which can be used as a treatment for conditions such as Alzheimer's disease. Quinoline-8-sulfonic acid has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of α7 nicotinic receptors and is effective in inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters. It has also been shown to have an effect on glycol ethers and nitrogen atoms, although its mechanism of action is not yet known.
