Product Information

Name:
6-Quinoline acetic acid
Synonyms:
  • Quinolin-6-Ylacetic Acid
  • 6-Quinolineacetic Acid
Description:

6-Quinoline acetic acid is a fluorescent compound that belongs to the group of quinoline derivatives. The fluorescence of 6-Quinoline acetic acid can be measured using a fluorometer. It has been shown to have a constant transport and anion, as well as anions in monolayers. 6-Quinoline acetic acid is also used for the preparation of liposomes which are composed of two lipid bilayers with a hydrophilic space in between. These liposomes are often used for membrane studies, such as fluorescence measurement. 6-Quinoline acetic acid is esterified from chloroacetic acid and quinolinium chloride in the presence of triethylamine.
