- Quinoline-2,3-dicarboxylic acid
2,3-Quinoline dicarboxylic acid is an organic solvent that is used as a reaction medium in the synthesis of polymers. It has been shown to be an efficient method for the preparation of polymer films by casting from solution. Fluorescence assays have been carried out with 2,3-quinoline dicarboxylic acid and malonic acid. This compound's nmr spectra are characterized by a singlet at δ=7.4 ppm and two doublets at δ=6.9 and 5.8 ppm, corresponding to the methylene protons on the quinoline ring. Hydrocarbon solvents such as 2,3-quinoline dicarboxylic acid can be used for picolinic acid acylation reactions because they are able to undergo hydrogen bonding interactions with picolinic acid and form stable complexes with picolinic acids.
