Product Information
- Quinoline-5-carbohydrazide
- Quinoline-5-Carboxylic Acid Hydrazide
Quinoline-5-carboxylic acid hydrazide is a bifunctional fluorescent derivative that has been used as a model compound for the study of hydrogenolysis, which is the cleavage of a molecule using hydrogen gas. Quinoline-5-carboxylic acid hydrazide can be synthesized by condensation of an amine with an azide, followed by alcoholysis. This compound displays fluorescence when reacted with an azide and quinoline derivatives. The reaction between the quinoline-5-carboxylic acid hydrazide and the azide produces a new molecule that contains a quinoline group in addition to the hydrazine group.
