2-Quinolinethiol is a quinoline derivative that has been used as an inhibitor molecule in analytical chemistry. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic system and forms x-ray crystal structures. 2-Quinolinethiol has also been shown to inhibit carbostyril, hydrogen bond, and basic structure of x-ray crystal structures of zinc diethyldithiocarbamate. 2-Quinolinethiol has a redox potential of -0.10 V and can be used as a chelate ligand for metal ions such as silver ions.
