Product Information
Isophorone is a colorless, volatile liquid with a strong odor. It is used as an intermediate in the manufacture of other chemicals, such as dyes and paints, and it has been shown to be a long-term carcinogen. Exposure to high concentrations of isophorone can cause depression of the central nervous system and malformations in humans. Isophorone is insoluble in water and cannot be used for inhalation therapy because it does not dissolve well in the lungs. It has been shown to be carcinogenic in animals, but this effect has not been observed in humans.
