Description:
Rac1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-3-methanol is a synthetic inhibitor of Rac1. It has affinity for the active site and steric bulk that is similar to other Rac1 inhibitors. It is not stereoselective, but because it is chiral, it can be used in conjunction with other drugs that are also chiral. Rac1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-3-methanol binds to the enzyme in a directionally selective way and interacts with the sequence of the active site. The methyl ester group on rac 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-3-methanol enhances its hydrophilicity and enantiomeric purity.
