Rac-1,2-bis-palmitoyl-3-chloropropanediol is a dispersive molecule that is composed of a fatty acid and a chlorinated derivative of palmitic acid. Rac-1,2-bis-palmitoyl-3-chloropropanediol reacts with electrospray ionization with a dose-dependent response. It has been shown to be toxic to kidney cells at high doses but not at low doses.
