Description

Racemic 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanol is a heterogeneously catalysed pharmaceutical formulation that is used as a reagent in the monitoring of extracellular processes. It has been shown to catalyse reactions at low concentrations, and therefore can be used to monitor reactions that are not limited by substrate concentration. Racemic 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanol is also a fluorescent substrate, which can be used to monitor reaction progress using spectroscopy. Racemic 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)propanol has been shown to have synergistic effects with lepidinium chloride and anethole when used as an acid catalyst in dehydration reactions.
