Rhodium(II) acetate dimer dihydrate is a liquid phase that has particle size dispersions. It is an active catalyst that catalyzes the reaction products in organic synthesis, such as hydrogenation and oxidation. Rhodium(II) acetate dimer dihydrate is also used to adsorb citronellol and other organic molecules with a molecular weight of less than 1000 Da. The nature of this compound is not yet known, but it has been found to be a nanometer-sized particle that can be synthesized through the reaction of tridecylamine and hydrogen.
