Description:

Rubidium tetrafluoroborate is a chemical compound that is stable in the presence of acetonitrile, alcohols, and water. It can be used in the reduction of organic compounds, such as esters and ketones. Rubidium tetrafluoroborate has been shown to catalyze the reaction between diiodomethane and magnesium to form ethylene gas. This chemical also has an absorption peak at 230 nm in ultraviolet light and can be used to determine the concentration of perovskite in mineral samples. Rubidium tetrafluoroborate is soluble in organic solvents but not water or deionized water. The solubility of this chemical makes it useful for solid phase synthesis reactions with anions or alkali metal triflates.
