Product Information
2-Hydrazinylbenzonitrile hydrochloride (2HBZ) is a synthetic antioxidant that inhibits the formation of superoxide anions. 2HBZ has shown to have a protective effect against acute ischemic and neuroprotective effects in animal models. It also has an inhibitory effect on the pathogenesis of acute phase. 2HBZ was found to be more effective than vitamin E, ascorbic acid, and glutathione in protecting against malondialdehyde-induced lipid peroxidation in rat liver homogenates. This compound also showed anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2).
