Product Information
- 2,6-Diisopropylphenylimido Neophylidenemolybdenum Bis(Hexafluoro-T-Butoxide)
Schrock's catalyst is a coordination complex that can be used in metathesis reactions, such as cross-coupling reactions. It is an active catalyst for the ring-opening of carbocyclic nucleosides. The synthesis of monomers, such as phenylacetic acid and cyclohexanone, is also possible with this catalyst. Schrock's catalyst has a silicon atom and a hydroxy group that are essential for its function. This catalyst is also stereoselective and can be used to synthesize 1,3-dienes and 1,5-dienes from alkenes. The activation energy required for Schrock's catalyst is low at about 10 kJ/mol.
