2-Sulfanylidene-6-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrimidin-4-one is a pyrimidine derivative that has been shown to have potent tuberculostatic activity in human dermal fibroblasts. It binds to the active site of the enzyme mycobacterium tuberculosis adenosine deaminase and inhibits its catalytic activity. The cytotoxic effect of 2-sulfanylidene-6-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrimidin-4-one on human dermal fibroblasts was observed by microscopy.
