Suc-Gly-Gly-Phe-pNA is a synthetic substrate that has been shown to be a substrate for proteolytic enzymes. It is reactive and reacts with the enzyme ns3 protease. Suc-Gly-Gly-Phe-pNA is a neutral pH compound and will react with serine proteases. This substrate can inhibit the activity of proteases, such as subtilisin, by binding to an amino acid residue in the active site. The optimal reaction temperature for this substrate is between 25°C and 38°C, although it will also react at higher temperatures (50°C). Suc-Gly-Gly-Phe-pNA is homologous to other substrates for subtilisins and carboxy terminal peptidases.
Suc Gly Gly Phe pNA shows inhibitory effect on subtilisins and carboxy terminal peptidases.
