SSR128129E is a monoclonal antibody that has been shown to inhibit the tyrosine kinase domain of the cdc-dna polymerase complex. The binding of SSR128129E to this enzyme prevents it from interacting with DNA, which prevents synthesis of mRNA and protein. The binding of SSR128129E to the cdc-dna polymerase also inhibits its ability to bind calcium, which is required for transcription and replication. This drug has minimal toxicity in vitro and in vivo assays and exhibits potent antitumor activity in vitro. SSR128129E binds tightly to cells that express the target antigen, such as kidney bean cells or colon cancer cells. It has been shown to be an effective treatment for solid tumors in vitro and in vivo.
