Product Information
Sipoglitazar is an antidiabetic agent that is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is a selective peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ agonist, which has been shown to increase glucose uptake and decrease hepatic glucose production in diabetic patients. Sipoglitazar increases ATP production by activating the ATP channel, thereby increasing cellular energy metabolism. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Sipoglitazar has a better response than glibenclamide in type 2 diabetic patients. There are no known drug interactions with Sipoglitazar, although it may cause drowsiness and dizziness. The plasma concentrations of Sipoglitazar are reduced by glucuronide conjugates in humans, resulting in a lower concentration of the active form.
