Product Information
- Selenophen-2-ylboronic acid
Selenophene-2-boronicacid is a boronic acid that is used as a ligand in microscopy. It has been shown to be fluorescent and can be used as a probe for detection of specific molecules. Selenophene-2-boronicacid has also been shown to have an interesting conformational behavior, which can be studied using electron microscopy. Selenophene-2-boronicacid was prepared by combining selenophene with boron trichloride, which resulted in the formation of two boron atoms on each selenophene ring. Selenophene-2-boronicacid has been found to inhibit the growth of certain pathogenic bacteria and fungi, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans, respectively. This may be due to its ability to disrupt the cell membrane or inhibit protein synthesis.
