Styrylethyltrimethoxysilane (STMS) is a particle with a diameter of 1.2 micrometers. This reactive chemical is functionalized with ethoxy groups and has many applications in the production of polymeric matrices, primers, coatings, and adhesives. STMS is often used to modify metal surfaces or as an additive in deionized water to produce hydroxyl groups that are then reacted with acid catalysts to form polymeric matrices. The reaction products of this process are optically active materials that have low energy absorption properties and zirconium oxide-based optical properties.
