Description

Spiro[4H-3,1-benzoxazine-4,4'-piperidin]-2(1H)-one is a spiropiperidine compound that has been shown to be an antihypertensive agent. It is believed that the mechanism of this drug's action involves the cleavage of the spiro ring and the rearrangement of the piperidine ring. Spiro[4H-3,1-benzoxazine-4,4'-piperidin]-2(1H)-one has been shown to decrease blood pressure by blocking sodium channels in vascular smooth muscle cells and inhibiting calcium currents in cardiac myocytes. This compound also has a dehydrative effect on tissues due to its interaction with water molecules.
