Siduron is a potent herbicide that inhibits lipid biosynthesis in plants by inhibiting the activity of enzymes involved in the synthesis of lipids. It also inhibits the activity of enzymes involved in the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids. Siduron is applied to plants as a dry powder and has been shown to be effective against both broad-leaved weeds and grasses. The optimal reaction temperature for Siduron is between 20°C and 25°C, at which point it becomes more active. This herbicide can be used on a variety of plants including tobacco, potatoes, tomatoes, soybeans, cotton, corn, wheat, oats, rye and rice.
