Description:
Sodium thiophenolate is a reactive chemical that belongs to the group of antimicrobial agents. It is used in the treatment of hepatitis, caused by viruses such as Hepatitis C and B. The basis for this use is the reaction between sodium thiophenolate and nucleophilic groups on the surface of viral particles. The reaction products are hydrochloric acid and alkanoic acid which are then excreted from the body.
