Product Information
Sodium new houttuyfonate is a monosodium salt that is used in pharmaceutical preparations. It is the sodium salt of a synthetic compound that inhibits the enzyme polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Sodium new houttuyfonate has been shown to inhibit replication of DNA and RNA, which can be useful in the treatment of infectious diseases caused by tissue infections. It also blocks the synthesis of proteins, which are vital for cell division. Sodium new houttuyfonate has also been shown to induce antibody production and insect resistance in vivo models. The molecular weight of sodium new houttuyfonate can be determined using an analytical method called atomic absorption spectroscopy. Another way to detect this compound is through its reaction with copper ions (Cu2+), which form a complex with it that can be detected by spectrophotometry or by measurement of absorbance at 360 nm.
