Product Information
Spiro[3.3]heptane-2-carboxylic acid is a mesomeric molecule that contains a cyclopentenone ring system. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of electron transfer, and can therefore be used as a chemical reaction catalyst. Spiro[3.3]heptane-2-carboxylic acid has diacids as well as stereoisomers, which are two different forms of the same molecule with different 3D shapes. The stereoisomers can have various effects on the chemical reactions they take part in, and this property is known as isoeffects. The interactions between these molecules are determined by their 3D shape, called the skeleton. The diffraction patterns for spiro[3.3]heptane-2-carboxylic acid were characterized using nmr spectroscopy and chemometrics techniques, which are methods that use mathematical calculations to analyze data from experiments.
