Product Information
Silicon 2,3-naphthalocyanine dichloride is a chloride salt that can be used as a diagnostic agent in the detection of cancerous cells. It is synthesized by irradiation of indocyanine green (ICG) with a laser. The photochemical reaction produces an excited state molecule that emits light at a wavelength of 650 nm, which is absorbed by skin cancer cells and converted to heat. Silicon 2,3-naphthalocyanine dichloride has been shown to be biocompatible and can be used in humans without any side effects. This compound can also be used to generate optical images and hyperthermia treatment for cancerous tissues.
