SAENTA is a solubilized monoclonal antibody that binds to the CD-34 antigen. It is used for diagnostic purposes, including identification of hematopoietic cells in biopsy specimens and detection of leukemia cells in peripheral blood smears. SAENTA has been shown to inhibit the binding of a variety of drugs to human cancer cells, such as erythromycin, gentamicin, chloramphenicol, and tetracycline. The biochemical property of SAENTA is its ability to bind to drug-sensitive mammalian cells and inhibit their growth. SAENTA has also been shown to be effective against infectious diseases caused by bacteria or viruses and may be useful for treating drug-resistant strains.
