Description

Serotonin O-sulfate (SOS) is a hydrogen sulfate that inhibits oxidative phosphorylation, leading to the accumulation of lactic acid. It is found in animals and humans and has been shown to inhibit the enzyme tryptophan hydroxylase, which is involved in the synthesis of serotonin. This product has been used for diagnosis of serotonergic syndrome and as an adjuvant treatment for cancer or kynurenine-induced diseases. SOS also has analgesic effects because it inhibits serotonin reuptake.
