Product Information
Sodium phenolate trihydrate is a sodium salt that can be used as an inhibitor in vitro. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the P-hydroxybenzoic acid, which is an intermediate in the biosynthesis of phenol. The binding prevents the formation of a molecule that would inhibit the reaction, and thus prevents bacterial growth. Sodium phenolate trihydrate has been shown to be effective against mda-mb-231 breast cancer cells in vitro, inhibiting cell proliferation by preventing DNA and RNA synthesis. This compound also reacts with copper chloride to form a complex and has electrochemical properties.
