Stilbene-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid is a mesoporous compound with fluorescence properties. It is a ligand for polycarboxylate anions and can be used as an additive in liquid phase reaction systems, such as in the production of ethylene. Stilbene-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid has been shown to react with ultraviolet radiation, which causes the emission of visible light. This compound exhibits photophysical and diffraction properties that are not found in other compounds.
