Sodium 4-amino-N-3-isoxazolyl sulphanilamidate is a drug that belongs to the class of antibiotics. It inhibits bacterial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and protein. The drug has been shown to have a combination effect with other antibiotics against Staphylococcus aureus and other organisms. This drug also has antibacterial activity against coccidiosis in animals and has been used as an additive in animal feed to prevent coccidiosis. Sodium 4-amino-N-3-isoxazolyl sulphanilamidate is active against Gram positive bacteria such as staphylococci and streptococci, but not against Gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, or Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
