Description:

Sudan Yellow 146 is a reactive dye that is used to produce a yellow color in textiles, plastics, and other materials. Sudan Yellow 146 is typically used as an additive in the production of polyester and nylon fibers. It also has been investigated for use in wastewater treatment. Sudan Yellow 146 reacts with anhydrous sodium (Na) under supercritical conditions to form Na2SO4, which can be decomposed by hydrogen gas (H2) to form H2SO4. The reaction mechanism for this process is:

Sudan Yellow 146 + Na → Na2SO4 + 2H2O

The hydroxyl group (-OH) of Sudan Yellow 146 reacts with the carbonyl group (-CO-), forming a hydrogen bond (-O-). The molecule then reacts with the zirconium oxide (ZrO), forming ZrO3, which can be oxidized by oxygen (O2) to form ZrO2. This reaction mechanism
