Description:
L-Serine benzyl ester hydrochloride is an antibacterial agent that is used to treat tuberculosis. L-Serine benzyl ester hydrochloride has been shown to be a long-acting, stereoselective, and synthetic linker for use in the synthesis of halogenated aryl halides. It is commonly used as the linker in solid-phase synthesis of quaternary ammonium salts. The antibacterial activity of this compound has been shown to be due to its ability to deplete glutathione, which is required for bacterial growth and survival.
