Product Information
Ser-Ser-Ser-OH is a basic protein that binds to receptors and alters their activity. Ser-Ser-Ser-OH has been shown to bind to group P2 receptors, which are found in the pancreas, stomach, and small intestine. The binding of this molecule to these receptors may lead to changes in receptor activity and pharmacokinetic properties. Ser-Ser-Ser-OH also has an amide group that can be protonated, which may account for its reactive character. Ser-Ser-Ser-OH has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth by binding to collagen on the surface of cancer cells. This molecule also inhibits trypsin treatment of collagen, which may be due to its ability to react with trypsin or because it competes with trypsin for binding sites on the collagen molecule.
