Description:

Sulfo-MBS-1 is a monoclonal antibody that recognizes the α subunit of epidermal growth factor receptor. This antibody has been used to identify prostate cancer cells in tissue sections and to monitor the effect of treatment with epidermal growth factor on these cells. Sulfo-MBS-1 has also been used as a model system for studying cell lysis and protein localization in proximal tubules. Sulfo-MBS-1 is a cell specific monoclonal antibody that binds to cytosolic proteins only. It can be used as a marker for basic fibroblast activation, because it does not react with activated cells.
