Description:

Sodium amide is a chemical compound that is used in the synthesis of pyrazole ring. It can be made by reacting ethylene diamine with sodium carbonate in a hydrolysis reaction. Sodium amide has been shown to cause light emission, and is therefore commonly used as an indicator for acidity. The compounds are also used in the production of amines, which are organic compounds that contain both an amino group and a carboxylic acid. Sodium amides have been shown to have anti-diabetic properties.
