(S)-SIPHOS is an organic compound that is insoluble in water. It can be synthesized by reacting nitroalkanes with isoxazolidines. (S)-SIPHOS has been used as a ligand for transition metal complexes, as well as in organic reactions such as hydrogenation and ring-opening reactions. (S)-SIPHOS has also been used to prepare chiral quinoxalines. The optical rotation of the compound was found to be dependent on the temperature of the solution, which can be attributed to the presence of a chiral center.
