Sodium 3-fluorobenzoate can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis or as a reagent in the manufacture of other compounds such as pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to have some potential as a drug for cancer treatment due to its ability to inhibit cell proliferation by blocking DNA synthesis.
