Product Information

Name:
Soyasaponin Aa
Description:

Soyasaponin Aa is a saponin found in soybeans. It has been shown to have potent antibacterial activity against bladder and cervical cancer cells in the laboratory. Soyasaponin Aa also inhibits human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection by inhibiting viral entry into host cells and by blocking the release of cytopathic virus from infected cells. The anti-cancer properties of this compound are due to its ability to inhibit cell growth and induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death. This compound has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects on the metabolic profiles of patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Soyasaponin Aa may be used as an alternative treatment for endometriosis, which is a painful disorder that affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age.
