Description:
Sappanchalcone is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of natural compounds. It has been shown to have antiproliferation activity against human leukemia cells HL-60 and human colon cancer cells HCT-116, as well as anti-inflammatory properties in an animal model of inflammatory lesion. Sappanchalcone has also been found to have cytotoxic effects on Klebsiella aerogenes, a bacterium that can cause pneumonia and other infections. The antiproliferation effect of sappanchalcone is most likely due to its ability to inhibit nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer (NFκB).
