Description

Sanggenone D is a natural compound that has been shown to function as an inhibitor of pancreatic lipase and human liver lipase. It also has non-competitive inhibition against the enzyme, which means that it binds to the enzyme's active site but does not prevent substrate binding. Sanggenone D has shown a treatment effect on depression in a study of rats. This effect was observed in both males and females and may be due to its ability to increase serotonin levels by inhibiting monoamine oxidase (MAO). The extract from Sanggenone D has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
