Product Information
- Acetic acid, 2,2-dichloro-2-fluoro-, sodium salt (1:1)
- Acetic acid, dichlorofluoro-, sodium salt
Sodium dichlorofluoroacetate is a chemical compound that is used in the preparation of pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to have anticancer activity and is also used to treat tumor diseases. This drug binds to DNA and inhibits the synthesis of proteins, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. Sodium dichlorofluoroacetate can be prepared from ethane (from natural gas) and chlorine gas. The reaction proceeds through the intermediates chloroethane, chloral, and ethyl chloride.
