Description:
Tris[Triphenylphosphinegold(I)]oxonium tetrafluoroborate is a dioxane-based gold(I) complex that is used in the synthesis of ferrocene-containing analogs. It is prepared by refluxing an equimolar mixture of phenolic, dioxane and triphenylphosphine. The complex crystallizes with two molecules of water, yielding two independent compounds. It has been shown to catalyze the hydrolysis of esters to produce carboxylic acids and alcohols.
