Product Information

Name:
2,3,4,5-tetrafluoroaniline
Synonyms:
  • 2,3,4,5-Tetrafluoroanilin
  • 2,3,4,5-Tetrafluoro-Phenylamine
Description:

2,3,4,5-Tetrafluoroaniline is a macrocyclic molecule with two terminal alkynes. It is an aromatic compound that can be aromatised to give the corresponding azaheterocycles. 2,3,4,5-Tetrafluoroaniline hydrolyses in acidic conditions to give the corresponding acetylenic acids and yields of less than 50% are obtained when it undergoes thermolysis. It has been used in the synthesis of medicines such as anti-inflammatory agents and antibiotics. 2,3,4,5-Tetrafluoroaniline also reacts with potassium hydroxide to form isophthaloyl anhydride which is a liquid crystal that can be used as a ketone.
