Description:

6-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)PYRIDINE-3-CARBALDEHYDE (6-TFPCA) is an organic solvent that is used to stabilize and introduce the reactant in a recrystallization process. 6-TFPCA is also used to stabilize the vessel for reaction. This solvent can be made by reacting hexane with dimethylformamide, butyllithium, and formamide. The reaction temperature must be between -78°C and -10°C. 6-TFPCA can be used as a synthetic intermediate in reactions involving hexane, dimethylformamide, butyllithium, formamide, n-hexane, and temperatures.
